Automated setup for measuring thermoelectric properties in nanofilms STN 300.600.3Omega. The setup is designed to measure the Seebeck coefficient, electrical conductivity, and thermal conductivity coefficient in nanofilms. The thermal conductivity coefficient in nanofilms is measured using the 3-omega method.
Technical specifications:
Measurement temperature range: from room temperature to 300 °C.
Settable temperature gradient: from 3 °C, with a 1 °C step.
Sensitivity for the Seebeck coefficient: 1 µV/K.
Electrical conductivity measurement range: from 10E-9 to 1000 S/m; the range can be extended.
Thermal conductivity coefficient measurement range: from 10E-3 to 300 W/(m ·K).
The setup for measuring thermoelectric properties consists of the following main components:
a) personal computer;
b) digital oscilloscope;
c) control and measurement unit;
d) measurement vacuum chamber, also referred to as the measurement station;
e) vacuum pump.
The control and measurement unit of the setup includes:
— a module with an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and a digital-to-analog converter (DAC);
— an electronic board with a galvanically isolated power supply for amplification of input and output analog signals;
— two PID controllers with RS-485 interface. The accuracy class of the PID controller is 0.5;
— a vacuum gauge.
The measurement vacuum chamber, or measurement station, structurally consists of a steel disk-shaped base, a glass bell jar, and two heating stages. The steel base has three vacuum feedthroughs. Each measurement stage is heated by radiation from a halogen lamp. The measurement vacuum chamber enables measurements from room temperature to 300 °C. The measurement vacuum chamber includes two platinum resistance temperature detectors for measuring the temperature of the stages. The vacuum pump ensures pressure in the measurement vacuum chamber of no more than 1 mmHg.
The software of the setup controls the control and measurement unit for performing measurements, including experimental data recording and graphical visualization.
